The Photo Shack Whitby, £125 Full Day Beginners Studio Workshop

Please note this event is pending a venue and date change

Marc Melling will be holding a full day studio workshop at The Photo Shack in Whitby, North Yorkshire.

This will be a full one day course lasting approximately 8 hours commencing at 10:00 am until 6:00pm. Refreshments etc will be provided FOC.

The workshop is intended to introduce you to studio shooting, giving you the skills and experience to enable you to create some superb images to get you started or to add to your portfolio.

The workshop is suitable for photographers who have some camera knowledge, but no studio experience. You should expect to both enjoy and learn from the workshop.

This workshop will be a full day including lunch, model/models, studio hire and use of all equipment in the studio; camera hire will also be available if required. (Please ask for details and availability)

The aim is to take the fear away from studio work; you don’t need to be technically minded to get the best from your images, this workshop is laid back in it’s approach and very much hands on. You will not be learning from any book, this workshop will show you how Marc Melling uses these techniques everyday as a professional photographer with over 20 years experience.

The morning would be spent explaining the equipment, the benefits and drawbacks of different types of lighting. This is a beginner level, explaining lighting techniques and ratios, but in a practical, not textbook approach.

The second half of the day will involve an experienced model, which you will shoot in several different set-ups, using the knowledge explained in the morning, and with Marc on hand at all times to demonstrate and to coach you.

If attending with your own camera, it MUST be able to be set to full manual operation; i.e. user selectable shutter speed and apertures, and have some means of connecting either a flash sync lead or preferably, a hot shoe (Minolta Dynax/Sony Digital users must bring a hot shoe adapter)

Please check your camera online if you have any worries regarding it’s compatibility (all other equipment is provided).

Radio triggers will be provided.

Bring your camera, lenses, memory cards and a pen and paper…..!

The cost for the entire day is only £125 per photographer and I will require a £50 deposit to secure a place at the time of booking ( other payment methods provided by e-mail etc ).
